The 22nd of January 2008 – the Day of Conciliarism of Ukraine. On this occasion, the RSA chairman Volodymyr LOGVYNENKO addressed to the Donetsk citizens. Here is the text:
“Dear compatriots!
On the 22nd of January 1919 eternal dreams, for which lived and died the best sons of Ukraine, came true. On the Sophia square with participation of all Ukrainian National Republic leadership, representative deputation of the Western Ukrainian National Republic, delegates of the Labor congress, clergy, military sergeant majors, foreign diplomats, a great number of people there was Unity Act of the Ukrainian National Republic and Western Ukrainian National Republic proclaimed.

Decree of Directory outlights: “From now on, together will be both parts of Ukraine, separated from each other for centuries, – Western Ukrainian National Republic and Abovedniper Great Ukraine. From now on, the only one independent Ukrainian National Republic exists”.

The unity of the Ukrainian land destined to for ever stay in the Ukrainian history as a great national holiday – the Day of Conciliarism of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian nation trudged to this event many centuries. Generations of Ukrainian patriots fostered the idea of creating Independent Ukraine. There are many who died for the sake of the future stateness, for the possibility be a host of the own native land. Ukraine acquired a great experience of state forming, the significance of which for further Independence’s statement it is hard to overestimate.

Today, celebrating the Day of Conciliarism of Ukraine, we should remember behests of fighters for the Ukrainian stateness and to realize that building of the democratic, fair, wealthy, synodal Ukraine is our debt to history.

 Only together, synodal, with participation of all layers and political forces of the society we can reach the prosperity of our Ukrainian state, our region, increasing of people’s welfare.
 Happy holiday, dear Donetsk citizens! Let us be the creators of our own destiny and our own state!”
