The representatives of the Donetsk regional branch of the open joint stock company “Savings bank” spoke to journalists

Today there was the press-conference in the Donetsk regional branch of the open joint stock company “Savings bank”. The director of the Donetsk regional branch of the open joint stock company “Savings bank” Viktor Nikolaev, the assistant of the governance director, the head of the operational department Tatiana Tolkunova, the assistant of the governance director of  the retail business Viktoria Ryzhkova and the head of deposit and compensation payments department Lyudmyla Osipovna took part in the conference.

The meeting outlighted the implementation of the Cabinet of Ministers Decision “About compensation payments to the Ukrainians because of the savings inflation, deposited to the 2nd of January 1992 in the Savings Bank of the USSR and state insurance of USSR, acted in the territory of Ukraine, and obligations of the State target interest-free loans in 1990, certificates of the USSR Savings Bank and the USSR state treasury obligations, obtained on the territory of the Ukrainian SSR”.

At the beginning of the press-conference, Viktor Nikolaev read out to Mass-Media representatives an opened letter of the open joint stock company “Savings bank” appointed to the depositors of the previous USSR Savings bank. It outlights the following”:

“Dear depositors!

The state savings bank of Ukraine started creating the informational-analytical system ”Register of the savings’ depositors”. This register is created by the demand of the Law of Ukraine “About the State budget of Ukraine for 2008 and about the changes of some legislative acts of Ukraine”.

It should be reminded that for the faster identification depositors should address to the Savings bank. You should have the following documents by yourselves:

- passport of the citizen of Ukraine and copies of passport pages, which include surname, name, by patronymic, birthday, series and number of passport, the date of issuing and the name of organ that issued it, place registration, note about the permitless payments without identification code (if it exists);

 

- certificate about the appropriation of the identification code and its copy (the certificate is not given when there is a note about the permitless payments without identification code in the passport);

 

- savings book for deposits of the previous USSR Savings bank;

- securities (obligations of the State target interest-free loan in 1990, obligations of the State inner premium bonds in 1982, USSR state treasury obligations, certificates of the USSR Savings bank).

 

Dear depositors! We would like to point out once more that the direction of the Savings bank, its collective fully realize the importance of the social mission, laid on the state bank today. Our specialists will do everything necessary for an appropriate serving to the Ukrainians within the whole term of Registering and compensation payments.

The creation of Register is a spade work that requires a high degree of concentration and attention of the bank workers. That is why we address to all of you not to create an additional tension in the bank, be tolerated to surrounding, mutually polite; respect people of old age and help them to be registered first”.

As Viktor Nikolaev said, “The open joint stock company “Savings bank” received the first in this year tranche of the budget money amounting 198.2 million USA dollars for payments. This money is already recounted to the accounts of the balance departments in the regional governances for the next enrolment to acting or opened current or deposit accounts of the depositors”.

 

Payments are carried out according to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decree from the 9th of January 2008 № 1 “About the compensation payments to the Ukrainians because of the savings inflation, deposited to the 2nd of January 1992 in the Savings Bank of the USSR and state insurance of USSR, acted in the territory of Ukraine, and obligations of the State target interest-free loans in 1990, certificates of the USSR Savings Bank and the USSR state treasury obligations, obtained on the territory of the Ukrainian SSR”.

 

The first payments of the Savings bank began today. All depositors, who on the 8th of January 2008 were identified with all their data in “Register of the savings’ depositors”, can address to the Savings bank and to draw up the current or deposit accounts and receive corresponding compensations. The director of the branch office assured all present that “the process of registering is not limited by the time; that is why people should know that this process will be done not in a week or month, but will act till the Government pays”. 

 

In order not to stand the large queues, citizens can write down their names in the journals, which exist in all departments of the “Savings bank” and to come at the indicated time. In order to fasten this process, depositors should go to those savings banks, to those departments, where they made their deposits, where they were served. But this is not obligatory. If a person wants to receive the money in another department, so there will not be any problems. In the Donetsk regional branch of the open joint stock company “Savings bank” and in the region towns there work 40 telephones of “hot lines”, which will help to get the necessary information and to put the questions.

In the Donetsk region the number of depositors’ addresses increases everyday. On the first day 18 thousands of Donetsk citizens addressed to the Savings bank, on the second day – 34 thousands, and yesterday were almost 38 thousands citizens’ addresses worked up. This process involves all operational and cash workers of the bank. The staff is increased to 146 specialists.
