New-year and Christmas holidays for kids of the Donetsk region

Today, the Christmas holiday took place for children-invalids, pupils of boarding schools from towns and districts of the region in the Donetsk regional Palace of children and youth creative work. At the beginning, 230 children met with Father Christmas and his Granddaughter near a forest beauty – Christmas tree, where they led round dances, sang songs, read the poems and took part in various competitions. And then kids  met with favorite fairy-tale heroes during the performance “New-year fairy-tale”. All the children received gifts from the region state administration. The organizer of the holiday is the RSA governance of education and science.
  During January of 2008 holiday actions take place in towns and districts. Beginning from the 1st till the 12th of January 2008 – celebrations near central New-year trees with handing of gifts to the children of privileged categories in towns and districts.
Also, beginning from the 1st till the 12th of January – holiday mornings, show-programs, evenings of rest, children performances, New-year holidays, folk merrymaking for kids and children of privileged categories (Dobropillja town, Selidove town, Makijivka town, Konstantynivka and Artemivs’k districts) and other actions will take place in educational establishments.
03.01. – 11.01.2008 – children' actions  devoted to Christmas will begin in towns and districts of the region. There will be staging Christmas Nativity Plays, musically-entertaining and competitive-entertaining programs, Christmas carols with participation of the children from schools and preschool establishments, competitions and exhibitions of children' works, folk quizzes, evenings, holidays-festivals, a number of actions with handing of the Christmas gifts to the children of privileged categories (Konstantynivka town, Donetsk city, Krasnoarmijs’k town, Selidove town, Pershotravnevyj in Center of social rehabilitation of children-invalids from Mar’jinka district and etc.) and other actions in cultural establishments.
During the new-year and Christmas holidays groups in Center of social rehabilitation in Center of social rehabilitation of children-invalids from Mar’jinka district of children-invalids from Mar’jinka district and sporting sections will work, school sport competitions in basket-ball, volley-ball, mini-football, chess, draughts will be organized, the excursions for children of privileged categories and students to the palace of sport “Druzhba”, museum of regional ethnography, botanical garden, circus “Kosmos” (Donetsk city), and other excursions and new-year trips for children will take place in towns and districts of the region.
 In order to honor traditions and customs of Orthodox and Christmas holidays’ celebrations there will be the meeting of children-invalids with the children from Voskresla school and with the dean of Saint-Kazans’k Temple in Mar’jinka town on the 8th of January 2008 in the Center of social rehabilitation of children-invalids from Mar’jinka district. Krasnoarmijs’k town charitable fund “Nadiya” gave 16 tickets for visiting the “Christmas fairy-tale” in the mine Culture Centre “Krasnoarmijs’k-Western №1” and gifts for children-invalids.
